OVERVIEW.......Advanced driving is the ability to control the car completely and safely,through using road and traffic conditions to make progress , with skill and responsibility. The skill requires a positive attitude and a high standard of driving competence based on concentration and effective all round observation, anticipation and planning. This must be co-ordinated with good handling skills, the vehicle should always be at the right place on the road at the right time, travelling at the right speed with the correct gear engaged and can always be stopped safely in the distance that can be seen to be clear.

TRAINING.... The training will consist of an assesment drive to ascertain the requirements of the individual driver.
lessons will be 1.5 hours in length,these are taken in your own vehicle, so that you will be familiar and comfortale through training and test.
You will be taught town,county and motorway driving.....A commentary drive will be taught aswell

THE TEST
Typically the test involves roughly 1 to 1.5 hours practical exam with someone who holds a Police Advanced Driving Certificate. More often than not, this will be a current or retired Class 1 Police Driver.
The test basically will cover the main areas of Roadcraft (or How to be an Advanced Driver if your on an IAM test). This will be on Town, Country and Motorway driving. The test “may” include maneuvers and also questions from the highway code.
